Edward Houghton is director of workforce effectiveness and transition services for Pitney Bowes Inc, headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut.   Ed is past chair of the MetroPool Board of Directors.  His company is one of a handful of organizations nationwide selected as a charter member of the EPA Commuter Choice Leadership Initiative.  

Ed has served on the Coastal Corridor Transportation Investment Area Board, charged with developing and recommending long-term transportation strategies to the Connecticut Transportation Strategy Board since 2000.  He also has been a member of the Boston College Work and Family Roundtable since 1994 and served on their steering committee until 2003. 

In addition, Ed is a member of the Alliance of Work/Life Progress, where he served on its board of directors from 1998 through 2001 and was treasurer/secretary and finance committee chair.  He is also frequently asked to serve as a speaker or moderator at several national and regional conferences.

Prior to joining Pitney Bowes’ corporate human resources group in 1993, Ed served in a variety of line positions in engineering, quality and service support.  He has been with Pitney Bowes for 35 years. 
Through the years, Ed had been actively involved in several community and service organizations.  He and his wife, Terri, both life-long residents of Fairfield County, have been married for 32 years.  They have two adult daughters and one grandson.
