John Queenan is head of environment and sustainability for RBS Americas -The Royal Bank of Scotland Group. He is responsible for building the environmental strategy for RBS Americas, helping to both reduce the organization's environmental footprint and raise awareness.Â
Previously, John served as executive director, head of ecology, Americas for UBS, where he managed the company’s environmental management system for 13 million square feet and over 500 locations in the Americas.Â
Prior to joining UBS, he had over 10 years of consulting experience advising Fortune 100 companies how to implement, improve and integrate corporate social responsibility into corporate culture, strategy and operations.
John earned Bachelor’s degree in science from SUNY Brockport and a Master’s degree in environmental management and policy from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, School of Management.
John is also on the business and environment committee of SoundWaters, a regional environmental education organization committed to the protection of the Long Island Sound. Other interests include travel, cooking, and international and domestic politics, as well as spending time outdoors with family and friends.Â
He was born in Dublin, Ireland and currently lives in Massapequa Park, New York with his wife, Bernadette, and three sons. One of John’s recent commitments to the environment includes volunteering with his family a few hours a month at a Long Island organic, community-supported agricultural (CSA) garden. |
