Bridgeport, Connecticut - Connecticut Department of Transportation
officials are pleased to announce the reopening of the following
local roads in Bridgeport on or about Thursday, August 5, 2004:
· South Avenue (section of road under the railroad bridge),
between Iranistan Ave. & Railroad Ave., opens to two-way traffic
· South Frontage Road, between Railroad Ave. and Park Ave.,

For the past six years, a portion of South Avenue (under the railroad
bridge), between Railroad Ave. and Iranistan Ave., has been a one-way
street. In addition, South Frontage Rd, between Railroad Ave. and
Park Ave., has been closed, in association with the reconstruction

Interchange. This portion of the I-95 Bridgeport Corridor Reconstruction
Project is scheduled to be completed by the end of August 2004.
Motorists are urged to proceed with caution as they travel through
the new local road configuration. Motorists traveling on I-95 through
Bridgeport should also proceed with caution and obey the posted
45-mph speed limit, established in 1997, for the Bridgeport Corridor
construction zone, which spans from Exit 24 to Exit 30 northbound
and southbound on I-95.
