Nighttime Traffic Detour Scheduled North & South On Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) At Exit 48

Trumbull, CT— The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that a nighttime traffic detour Northbound and Southbound on Route 15, at Exit 48 in Trumbull, will be in place from Monday, April 21 through Friday, April 25, 2003. The nighttime work on this project involves the replacement of the existing bridge for the reconstruction of the Route 15 and Route 111 Interchange at Exit 48. Work will take place, weather permitting.

All traffic traveling on Route 15 Northbound and Southbound will be directed “Up and Over” using the Exit 48 ramps at night from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM Monday through Thursday. On Friday night the detours will be from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM Northbound and 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM Southbound.

In addition, the nighttime single lane closures will be in place as follows:

Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) Southbound:
Monday through Thursday (7:00 PM to 6:00 AM)
Friday (8:00 PM to 6:00 AM)
*Saturday (7:00 PM to 10:00 AM)
*Sunday (9:00 PM to 6:00 AM)

Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) Northbound:
Monday through Thursday (8:00 PM to 6:00 AM)
Friday (9:00 PM to 6:00 AM)
*Saturday (7:00 PM to 11:00 AM)
*Sunday (9:00 PM to 6:00 AM)

*Weekend work hours are provided, in the event the project work takes longer than anticipated.

Construction signs, variable message signs and trafficmen will be in place to assist motorists during the nighttime hours. Motorists are urged to proceed with caution and obey the posted speed limits when traveling through this and all other construction zones.
