Southbury,
CT— Connecticut Department of Transportation officials have
announced that traffic is scheduled to be diverted from the I-84
Eastbound Exit 14 off-ramp on Thursday night, July 24, 2003 beginning
at Midnight. The ramp is scheduled to be reopened by 3:00 AM Friday
morning, July 25. The work will be conducted, weather permitting.
These closures are necessary to allow for paving the off-ramp.
During
the diversion, traffic will be detoured via the following alternate
route:
Signing on I-84 Eastbound will direct traffic to exit at Exit 13,
where detour signing will take traffic East on Main St. South to
Rte. 172.
The
$22 million project is expected to be completed in November 2003,
and calls for bridge deck patching, pavement milling, paving and
other safety improvements along I-84. Motorists are urged to use
caution when traveling through construction zones and allow for
extra travel time.
