Southbury,
CT— Connecticut Department of Transportation officials have
announced that traffic is scheduled to be diverted from the I-84
Eastbound Exit 13 off-ramp on Monday night, July 21, 2003 beginning
at Midnight. The ramp is scheduled to be reopened by
5:00 AM Tuesday morning, July 22. The work will be conducted, weather
permitting. This closure is necessary to allow for milling and paving
on I-84 Eastbound.
During
the diversion, traffic will be detoured via the following alternate
route:
Signing on I-84 Eastbound will direct traffic to exit at
Exit 14, where detour signing will take traffic North on Rte. 172
and West on Main St. South to River Rd.
The
$22 million project is expected to be completed in November 2003,
and calls for bridge deck patching, pavement milling, paving and
other safety improvements along I-84. Motorists are urged to use
caution when traveling through construction zones and allow for
extra travel time.
