Diversion Scheduled For I-84 Eastbound

CT— Connecticut Department of Transportation officials have
announced that traffic is scheduled to be diverted from the I-84
Eastbound Exit 14 on-ramp on Friday morning, July 25, 2003 beginning
at 3:00 AM. The ramp is scheduled to be reopened by 6:00 AM that
same day (Friday, July 25). The work will be conducted, weather
permitting. This closure is necessary to allow for paving the on-ramp.
During
the diversion, traffic will be detoured via the following alternate
route:
Traffic will be detoured North on Rte. 172 to East on Main St. South
to South on Rte. 67, where traffic can enter I-84 Eastbound at the
Exit 15 on-ramp.
The
$22 million project is expected to be completed in November 2003,
and calls for bridge deck patching, pavement milling, paving and
other safety improvements along I-84. Motorists are urged to use
caution when traveling through construction zones and allow for
extra travel time.
