New
Milford, CT— Connecticut Department of Transportation officials
have announced that, weather permitting, a portion of Route 7 in
New Milford will be temporarily realigned, beginning on Friday,
May 16, 2003. The section of road will be between Pickett District
Road and Sunny Valley Road (south). Traffic will be laterally shifted
to the east onto temporary pavement, which will allow permanent
southbound Route 7 reconstruction and new Sanitary Sewer installation.
Two eleven-foot wide lanes will be maintained, as will all residential
and commercial driveways.
The
work is part of the overall project that starts just north of the
intersection of Route 7 at Routes 202/67 (Bridge Street) and going
south to Old State Road #2, approximately 3.5 miles. The overall
completion of the project is expected by summer 2005.
Motorists
are urged to use caution when traveling through construction zones
and allow for extra travel time.
