Norwalk, CT— The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that bridge reconstruction of the southbound deck over West Avenue in Norwalk will result in the closure of the on-ramp from West Avenue to I-95 southbound. The closure will take effect on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 9:00AM and will continue until further notice. Detour signs and variable message signs will be posted.

In association with the bridge reconstruction, there will be lane shifts on I-95 southbound between Exits 15 and 14, as well. Traffic traveling in the left lane will be shifted to the left; traffic traveling in the right and center lanes will be shifted to the right. This will take place at 7:00PM, Wednesday, October 15, and will continue until further notice.

This project, scheduled to be completed in April 2005, calls for bridge deck reconstruction, the reconstruction of the median areas, improved drainage systems, new concrete barriers, as well as the milling and resurfacing of I-95, both northbound and southbound, from Exits 10 through 16.

Motorists are urged to proceed with caution and obey the posted speed limits when traveling through this and all other construction zones.
