Just follow these five easy steps to design a commute program that's right for your company and employees. Your time will be well spent!
Step One: Step One Call your MetroPool Program Manager Your MetroPool Program Manager will explain the wide range of free services available to you and help you get started. Your Program Manager can be reached by calling 203/324-6700.Return to top Step Two Designate someone at your company to be in charge of organizing the commute program At MetroPool Inc., we refer to this person as the Transportation Coordinator or T.C. Very often, the T.C. is someone from the Human Resource department and/or is someone with a commitment to the environment. Our experience has shown that those companies with the most successful commute programs have T.C.s that are enthusiastic and committed to promoting such a program. The T.C. will work with MetroPool and your company's management to design a program that identifies and meets the needs of your employees and your organization. We recommend that you survey your employees to find out how they commute now and how they might consider commuting in the future.Return to top Step Three Hold a Transportation Day at your work site With MetroPool Inc.'s assistance, a Transportation Day will introduce your employees to the various commute alternatives available to them, such as carpooling, vanpooling, using mass transit, etc.Return to top Step Four Set up a Commuter Information Center Order a FREE Commuter Information Center from your MetroPool Program Manager (wall or table-top units are available). MetroPool Inc. will provide you with monthly flyers to keep your employees informed about commute options and the reasons they should consider using transportation alternatives instead of driving alone.Return to top Step Five Call your MetroPool Program Manager whenever you need assistance Your MetroPool Program Manager is here to assist you in promoting and encouraging commute alternatives at your work site.
