Route 7 In New Milford To Be Paved

New Milford, CT— Connecticut Department of Transportation
officials have announced that, weather permitting, beginning on
Monday, August 9, 2004, the final course of paving will commence
on Route 7 in New Milford. The section of road will be between Still
River Drive to just north of Sunny Valley Road (south). One lane
of traffic in each direction will be maintained and residential/commercial
driveways will have access provided.
Paving will be done from the hours of 7:00pm to 6:00am, Monday
through Friday, and is expected to take two weeks to complete (tentative
date for completion is
August 20, 2004). Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling
through the construction work zones and allow for extra travel time.
The work is part of the overall project that starts just north
of the intersection of Route 7 at Routes 202/67 (Bridge Street)
and ends south of Old State Road #2, approximately 2.5 miles.
The overall completion of the project is expected by summer 2005.
