Poughkeepsie Resident Elected Chairman
of MetroPool Board
Stamford, CT – June 18, 2009 – Allan Page, a resident of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and founder of A. Page & Associates, LLC—an energy consultancy, was elected chairman of the MetroPool, Inc. Board of Directors at its June 17th meeting. MetroPool is the area’s leading commuting solutions company.
Mr. Page founded his management-consulting firm in 2002 to provide advisory and business services to organizations involved with energy development and energy-related issues. It is currently engaged on both a national and international basis in renewable energy project development, energy project licensing/permitting, and bulk power market energy purchase and sales.
Prior to founding A. Page & Associates, he spent 32 years with the CH Energy Group, and held positions in engineering, operations, customer service and executive management.
Mr. Page is an active community builder in New York’s Hudson Valley. He is a board member and/or volunteer for: the United Way of Dutchess County, the Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce, the Hudson Valley Boy Scouts of America, the Dutchess County Science Fair Advisory Council, the World Affairs Council of the Mid-Hudson Valley, the Bardavon 1869 Opera House, and the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center. He is also one of the founders of the Hudson Renewable Energy Institute.
Mr. Page is a graduate of Union College in Schenectady, New York and holds a professional engineering license in New York. He has served on the MetroPool Board since June 1999.
The Board also reelected the following members for a three-year term: Robert Piacenza, director of administrative services for Purdue Pharma in Stamford, CT; John Queenan, head of environment and sustainability for RBS Americas; Paul Scribano, director of financial planning for Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc., and David Yarmoff, senior vice president of operations for Apple & Eve LLC in Port Washington, NY.
Following the meeting, Board members participated in an awards ceremony marking the New York winners of the 2009 Earth Day Commuter Challenge ‘Race to the Finish’; and the Clean Air New York Champions (CANY). The CANY awards, sponsored by ICF International, is held for employers who went “above and beyond” expectations for implementing environmental programs to improve air quality. The awards were presented by Dr. Marsha Gordon, president and CEO of The Business Council of Westchester at the IBM Learning Center in Armonk, N.Y.
