Southbury Resident and Cartus Executive Named to MetroPool Board
Stamford, CT – Sept. 21, 2009 – Mark Langdon, a resident of Southbury, CT, was named to the MetroPool, Inc. Board of Directors at its September 16th meeting. MetroPool is the area’s leading commuting solutions company.
Mr. Langdon has been facilities customer operations manager at Cartus in Danbury for the past 16 years, serving as a contractor under Pitney Bowes where he has been employed since 1988.
A strong promoter of the protection of the environment and conservation of natural resources, he became head of the Cartus Conservation Committee in 2003, promoting Earth Day Events including recycling programs, Cartus Ride Share Days and other ridesharing projects.
Under his direction, Cartus became one of the first companies in the state of Connecticut to promote NuRide--the nation’s largest online, incentives-based program for individuals who take greener trips, which include carpooling, vanpooling, biking, walking, telecommuting and taking public transportation.  Today, Cartus has more than 500 NuRiders among its employees to encourage a greener commute.
Active in his local community, Mr. Langdon has been part of the City of Danbury Adopt-A-Street Program for the last six years.
An avid horseman, he is past president of the New York State Morgan Horse Society, which he has been associated with for the past 25 years. He continues to enjoy riding and showing Morgan Horses in his hometown of Southbury, CT. Mr. Langdon holds an Associate Degree from Alliance College in Cambridge Springs, PA.
