Darien:
I-95 northbound and southbound, Exits 13 to 16, right and center lanes
closed:
- northbound, closed 8:00pm to 6:00am
- southbound,
closed 7:00pm to 5:00am
Bridgeport:
I-95 northbound, Exits 26 to 27, left and center lanes closed, 9:00pm
to 6:00am, installation of expansion joints. Ramps closed; see detours under
"ongoing projects and situational notes" below:
- Exit 27 off-ramp
- Route 8/25 to I-95 northbound
Bridgeport:
I-95 southbound, Exits 26 to 23, left and center lanes closed, 7:00pm
to 6:00am. Other closures:
- Exit 25 Fairfield Ave. on-ramp (I-95 NB)
- Exit 26 Wordin Ave. on-ramp (I-95 SB)
Milford:
I-95 southbound, Exits 41 to 39, alternating lanes closed, 7:00pm to

I-84 eastbound and westbound, Exits 17 to 26, right lane

Stamford/Westport:
Route 15 southbound, Exits 42 to 41 and Exits 36 to 35,
right lane closed, 9:30am to 3:30pm, maintenance activities.
Norwalk/Fairfield:
Route 15 northbound, Exits 40 to 44, left lane closed, 9:30am to 3:00pm,
drainage.
Orange/Milford:
Route 15 southbound, Exits 56 to 55, left lane closed, 9:30am to 12:00pm,
fence repairs.
Shelton:
Route 8 southbound, Exits 12 to 10, left lane closed, 12:00pm to 2:30pm,
fence repairs.
Newtown:
Route 6 westbound, Church Hill Rd. near Conner Rd., various lanes closed,
8:00am to 4:00pm, permit job (pavement remediation, signs).
Danbury:
Route 6 eastbound, Mill Plain Rd. vicinity of Driftway Rd., various
lanes closed, 9:00am to 4:00pm, permit job (sanitary sewer installation, signs
and police).
Waterbury:
I-84 westbound, Exits 18 to 17, right lane closed, 9:00am to 3:00pm,
tree removal.
ONGOING
PROJECTS & SITUATIONAL NOTES
- CONNECTICUT -
Bridgeport:
Ramp and lane closures on I-95 and Route 8/25 are scheduled Monday
through Thursday nights, May 10 - 13, 2004, for line striping
and installation of overhead signs and bridge expansion joints, as progress
continues on the I-95 Bridgeport Reconstruction Project. Work will take place,
weather permitting. Lane closures will take place between Exits 26 to 27A northbound
and southbound, from 9:00pm to 6:00am (NB) and 7:00pm to 6:00am (SB). The following
ramps will be closed, from 10:00pm to 6:00am each night:
I-95 northbound Exit 27 and Exit 27A - only one ramp will be
closed at a time. Detours:
- Exit 27 - take Exit 27A onto Route 8/25 NB. Take Exit 2, Main St./Golden Hill
St., to get to downtown Bridgeport.
- Exit 27A
- take Exit 27 NB, go straight through traffic light and follow detour signs
for Route 8/25 NB on South Ave./Warren St.
Route 8/25 southbound ramps to I-95 northbound and southbound -
only one ramp will be closed at a time. Detours:
- Route 8/25 SB to I-95 NB - take Exit 1 on Route 8/25, go straight on Myrtle
Ave., turn left on South Frontage Rd. and follow signs to I-95 NB. Take entrance
ramp from Lafayette St.
- Route 8/25 SB to I-95 SB - take Exit 1 on Route 8/25, go straight on Myrtle
Ave., after second traffic light turn right onto entrance ramp to I-95 SB.
Stratford/Milford:
Traffic is scheduled to be diverted from NB Daniel Wasson Connector
(DWC) to Route 15 SB and from SB Route 15 to DWC the following
nights, May 10th and May 11th,
from 11:00pm to 5:00am each day, weather permitting. Work is in association
with the Sikorsky Bridge Replacement Project. Detours:
- DWC to Route 15
SB - motorists diverted onto ramp to NB Rt. 15, exit at Wheelers Farms Rd. and
follow posted detour signs to Rt. 15 SB.
- Route 15 SB to DWC SB - take Exit 53 and follow posted detour signs to Rt.
15 NB and back to Exit 54.
Ansonia/Derby:
Division Street Bridge (between Route 115, Main St., in
Ansonia and Route 727, Pershing Dr., in Derby), scheduled to be
closed from 9:00am, May 11th through 6:00am, May
12th, to place concrete for center section of new bridge. Posted
detour route will be installed utilizing Route 727, Route 8 and Route 115. Project
is expected to be completed in August 2004.
Bridgeport:
Local road closures, in association with the I-95 Bridgeport Corridor
Reconstruction Project, May 10th through
14th:
- Broad St., between South and North Frontage Rds., 7:00am to 4:00pm
- Water St., at Main St., 7:00am to 1:00am
- possibly
Thursday and/or Friday, Main St., between North & South Frontage Rds., 7:00am
to 4:00pm (Broad and Water Sts. will be open)
Bridgeport:
I-95 Bridgeport Corridor Reconstruction Project -
the following closures will remain in place indefinitely, while
the highway is being repaired:
- Northbound Exit 25 on-ramp
- Southbound Exit 26 on-ramp
- Howard Avenue, between Cherry and Pine Streets
**The 45-mph posted speed limit through the Bridgeport construction area, from
Exits 24 to 30, will be strictly enforced.
Darien:
Nighttime lane closures on I-95 northbound and southbound, involving
two lanes between Exits 10 to 13,
begin on or about Monday, April 12th and continue through the construction season.
Work involves drainage and paving, weather permitting. Lane closures, Monday
through Thursday, as follows:
- Northbound - first lane closure from 8:00pm to 6:00am; second
adjacent lane closure from 11:00pm to 6:00am (on Thursday, second lane closure
begins at 12:00am).
- Southbound - first lane closure from 7:00pm to 6:00am; second
adjacent lane closure from 10:00pm to 5:00am (on Thursday, second lane closure
begins at 11:00pm).
Watertown:
Route 8 northbound, between Exit 37 off-ramp and on-ramp, is restricted
to one lane for bridge rehabilitation. Work will take place, weather permitting,
and is expected to be completed September 2004. Special note:
oversize and overweight vehicles will be required to detour off Rt. 8 NB at
Exit 37, Rt. 262. Follow Frost Bridge Rd. to access Rt. 8 NB entrance ramp.
New
Milford: portion of Route 7, between Dodd Rd. and Picket
District Rd., will be temporarily realigned. Traffic is being laterally shifted
to the west, which will allow permanent northbound Route 7 reconstruction. Two
11 ft. lanes and all residential/commercial driveways will be maintained during
construction.
Norwalk:
I-95 SB, Exits 15 to 14, lane shifts. Traffic traveling in left lane
shifted to left; traffic in center and right lanes shifted to right. Also, the
on-ramp from West Ave. to I-95 SB is closed for bridge reconstruction of the
southbound deck until further notice.
Greenwich:
Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) NB and SB, ongoing work including possible
lane closures and delays through August 2004. Please check daily lane closings,
described above for day and/or night, for specific details when work is scheduled
to take place.
Stamford:
The existing Stamford Transportation Center Parking Garage
reopened on March 1st. Parking spaces are available. For information about obtaining

Greenwich:
Greenwich Railroad Station -
Track 3: construction through August 2004. Access to trains
via eight bridge plates located on the west end of the platform footbridge.
The stairs coming up from Steamboat Rd. are closed until further notice.
Track 4: construction through July 2004. The platform is closed
from the Pedestrian Bridge Overpass eastward. A temporary platform is open.
