Branford:
Route 142, between Rt. 1 at Short Beach Rd. to Short Beach Rd. at Brockett
Point Rd., various lanes closed, 8:00am to 4:00pm, milling.
Danbury:
Route 6 eastbound, Mill Plain Rd. vicinity of Driftway Rd., various
lanes closed, 9:00am to 4:00pm, permit job (sanitary sewer installation, signs
and police).
Newtown:
Route 6 westbound, Church Hill Rd. near Conner Rd., various lanes closed,
8:00am to 4:00pm, permit job (pavement remediation, signs).
Waterbury:
Route 801 eastbound and westbound, between White Crost and Nerliene St., alternating

Route 8 northbound,

ONGOING
PROJECTS & SITUATIONAL NOTES
- CONNECTICUT -
West
Haven: Nighttime shift to new Exit 42 off-ramp
and on-ramp on I-95
southbound, is scheduled to take place Tuesday, May 18th,
at midnight, weather permitting. Signs will be posted and state police will
be on hand to assist motorists. This work is part of a project that includes
reconstruction of the I-95 bridge over Route 162 (Saw Mill Rd.),
road reconstruction and ramp reconfiguration. Scheduled completion date is April
2006.
Greenwich:
In association with the Arch Street Construction Project, road work on Arch
Street, between Railroad Ave. and Horseneck Lane, is scheduled to begin
on or about Monday, May 17th through end of July, for utility
installations. Work, involving digging various portions of the roadway, will
take place Monday through Friday nights, from 8:00pm to 6:00am each day. Anticipate
alternating one-way traffic patterns; traffic control personnel will be in place
to assist during this time.
Bridgeport:
Ramp and lane closures on I-95 and Route 8/25 continue next week, Monday
through Thursday nights, May 17th - 20th, for line striping
and installation of overhead signs and bridge expansion joints. Lane closures
will take place between Exits 26 to 27A. Ramps to be closed, from
10:00pm to 6:00am each night:
I-95 northbound Exit 27 and Exit 27A - only one ramp will be
closed at a time (will not be closed on May 18th due to Bluefish Home Game Opener).
Detours:
- Exit 27 - take Exit 27A onto Route 8/25 NB. Take Exit 2, Main
St./Golden Hill St., to get to downtown Bridgeport.
- Exit 27A
- take Exit 27 NB, go straight through traffic light and follow detour signs
for Route 8/25 NB on South Ave./Warren St.
Route 8/25 southbound ramps to I-95 northbound and southbound -
only one ramp will be closed at a time. Detours:
- Route 8/25 SB to I-95 NB - take Exit 1 on Route 8/25, go straight on Myrtle
Ave., turn left on South Frontage Rd. and follow signs to I-95 NB. Take entrance
ramp from Lafayette St.
- Route 8/25 SB to I-95 SB - take Exit 1 on Route 8/25, go straight on Myrtle
Ave., after second traffic light turn right onto entrance ramp to I-95 SB.
Bridgeport:
A bridge maintenance project on I-95 northbound will
involve various lane closures between Exits 23 to 30, and is
scheduled to begin on or about May 10th through June 10th.
Work will take place, Monday through Thursday evenings, from 9:00pm to 5:00am
each night, weather permitting.
Bridgeport:
Local road closures, in association with the I-95 Bridgeport Corridor
Reconstruction Project, May 17th to May 21st:
- Main St., between South & North Frontage Rds., closed May 17th & possibly
19th, 7:00am to 6:00pm, structural steel erection.
- Broad St., between North & South Frontage Rds., restricted, as needed.
- Water St., at Main St., may be closed May 20th and/or 21st, as needed.
Bridgeport:
I-95 Bridgeport Corridor Reconstruction Project -
the following closures will remain in place indefinitely, while
the highway is being repaired:
- Northbound Exit 25 on-ramp
- Southbound Exit 26 on-ramp
- Howard Avenue, between Cherry and Pine Streets
**The 45-mph posted speed limit through the Bridgeport construction area, from
Exits 24 to 30, will be strictly enforced.
Branford/Guilford/Clinton:
Work on several Shore Line East Stations is scheduled
to begin May 24th. No service interruptions are anticipated

Darien:
Nighttime lane closures on I-95 northbound and southbound, involving
two lanes between Exits 10 to 13,
begin on or about Monday, April 12th and continue through the construction season.
Work involves drainage and paving, weather permitting. Lane closures, Monday
through Thursday, as follows:
- Northbound - first lane closure from 8:00pm to 6:00am; second
adjacent lane closure from 11:00pm to 6:00am (on Thursday, second lane closure
begins at 12:00am).
- Southbound - first lane closure from 7:00pm to 6:00am; second
adjacent lane closure from 10:00pm to 5:00am (on Thursday, second lane closure
begins at 11:00pm).
Watertown:
Route 8 northbound, between Exit 37 off-ramp and on-ramp, is restricted
to one lane for bridge rehabilitation. Work will take place, weather permitting,
and is expected to be completed September 2004. Special note:
oversize and overweight vehicles will be required to detour off Rt. 8 NB at
Exit 37, Rt. 262. Follow Frost Bridge Rd. to access Rt. 8 NB entrance ramp.
New
Milford: portion of Route 7, between Dodd Rd. and Picket
District Rd., will be temporarily realigned. Traffic is being laterally shifted
to the west, which will allow permanent northbound Route 7 reconstruction. Two
11 ft. lanes and all residential/commercial driveways will be maintained during
construction.
Norwalk:
I-95 SB, Exits 15 to 14, lane shifts. Traffic traveling in left lane
shifted to left; traffic in center and right lanes shifted to right. Also, the
on-ramp from West Ave. to I-95 SB is closed for bridge reconstruction of the
southbound deck until further notice.
Greenwich:
Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) NB and SB, ongoing work including possible
lane closures and delays through August 2004. Please check daily lane closings,
described above for day and/or night, for specific details when work is scheduled
to take place.
Stamford:
The existing Stamford Transportation Center Parking Garage
reopened on March 1st. Parking spaces are available. For information about obtaining

Greenwich:
Greenwich Railroad Station -
Track 3: construction through August 2004. Access to trains
via eight bridge plates located on the west end of the platform footbridge.
The stairs coming up from Steamboat Rd. are closed until further notice.
Track 4: construction through July 2004. The platform is closed
from the Pedestrian Bridge Overpass eastward. A temporary platform is open.
