Greenwich/Fairfield:
I-95 northbound and southbound, NY state line to Exit
23, right lane closed, 7:00pm to 5:00am.
Bridgeport:
I-95 southbound, Exits 29 to 27, right lane closed, 7:00pm
to 6:00am, demolition.
Bridgeport:
I-95 southbound, Exits 26 to 23, alternating lanes closed, 7:00pm
to 6:00am. Other closures:
- Exit 25 Fairfield Ave. on-ramp (I-95 NB)
- Exit 26 Wordin Ave. on-ramp (I-95 SB)
Bridgeport:
I-95 northbound, Exits 26 to 27A, left and center lanes closed, 9:00pm
to 6:00am, install expansion joints. Other closure:
- Exit 27A ramp to Route 8/25 connector northbound, closed
10:00pm to 6:00am, for line striping. Motorists are advised to get off at Exit
27 and follow detour signs to proceed to the connector NB. Work will
take place, weather permitting. Rain Date: May 6th
Stratford/Milford:
I-95 northbound, Exits 32 to 34, various lanes closed,
9:00pm to 5:00am, deck repair on Moses Wheeler Bridge.
Milford:
I-95 northbound and southbound, Exits 39 to 41, alternating
lanes closed, 7:00pm to 6:00am, concrete removal around basins.
East Haven/Branford:
I-95 southbound, Exits 50 to 46, right and center lanes closed,
8:00pm to 6:00am.
Branford:
I-95 northbound and southbound, Exits 52 to 54, closures
8:00pm to 6:00am:
- northbound, left lane closed
- southbound, alternating lanes closed
Danbury/Southbury:
I-84 eastbound and westbound, Exits 1 to 13, right lane
closed, 7:00pm to 5:00am, sweeping.

Route 15 northbound and southbound, NY state line to Exit 33, left
lane closed, 9:30am to 3:00pm, mowing.
Norwalk/Fairfield:
Route 15 northbound and southbound, Exits 40 to 46, left
lane closed, 9:00am to 3:00pm, cleaning waterways.
Milford/North
Haven: Route 15 northbound, Exits 55 to 63, left lane
closed, 9:00am to 2:00pm, mowing.
Bridgeport/Trumbull:
Route 25 northbound and southbound, I-95 ramps to Route
8, various lanes closed, 9:00am to 3:00pm, fence repairs.
Shelton:
Route 8 southbound, Exits 17 to 14, various lanes closed,
9:00am to 4:00pm, bridge maintenance.
Newtown:
Route 6 westbound, Church Hill Rd. near Conner Rd., various lanes closed,
8:00am to 4:00pm, permit job (pavement remediation, signs).
Danbury:
Route 6 eastbound, Mill Plain Rd. vicinity of Driftway Rd., various
lanes closed, 9:00am to 4:00pm, permit job (sanitary sewer installation).
Danbury:
I-84 westbound, Exits 9 to 8, right lane closed, 9:00am
to 3:00pm, fence repair.
Waterbury/Middlebury:
I-84 westbound, Exit 18, right lane closed, 9:00am to
3:00pm, tree removal.
ONGOING
PROJECTS & SITUATIONAL NOTES
- CONNECTICUT -
Norwalk:
I-95 SB, from just south of Westport town line to about one-half mile
south of East Avenue overpass, milling and resurfacing project scheduled Thursday
night, May 6th. Work will be performed from 7:00pm to 5:00am,
weather permitting.
Stratford/Milford:
Traffic is scheduled to be diverted from NB Daniel Wasson Connector
(DWC) to Route 15 SB and from SB Route 15 to DWC next week, Monday
through Thursday nights, May 3rd - 6th, from 11:00pm to 5:00am
each day, weather permitting. Work is in association with the Sikorsky Bridge
Replacement Project. Detours:
- DWC to Route 15
SB - motorists diverted onto ramp to NB Rt. 15, exit at Wheelers Farms Rd. and
follow posted detour signs to Rt. 15 SB.
- Route 15 SB to DWC SB - take Exit 53 and follow posted detour signs to Rt.
15 NB and back to Exit 54.
Ansonia/Derby:
Division Street Bridge (between Route 115, Main St., in
Ansonia and Route 727, Pershing Dr., in Derby), scheduled to be
closed from 9:00am, May 11th through 6:00am, May
12th, to place concrete for center section of new bridge. Posted
detour route will be installed utilizing Route 727, Route 8 and Route 115. Project
is expected to be completed in August 2004.
Bridgeport:
Local road closures, in association with the I-95 Bridgeport Corridor
Reconstruction Project, May 1st through 7th:
- May 1 and May 3 to 5 - Water St., at Main St., closed 7:00am
to 12:00am for pier installation; closed Sat. 7:00am to 4:00pm. Closures coordinated
with Arena events.
- May 6 to 7 (back up day) - Main St., between North &
South Frontage Rds., 7:00am to 4:00pm for steel erection. Road open for Sesame
St. Live at Arena on May 7 at 10:30am.
Bridgeport:
I-95 Bridgeport Corridor Reconstruction Project -
the following closures will remain in place indefinitely, while
the highway is being repaired:
- Northbound Exit 25 on-ramp
- Southbound Exit 26 on-ramp
- Howard Avenue, between Cherry and Pine Streets
**The 45-mph posted speed limit through the Bridgeport construction area, from
Exits 24 to 30, will be strictly enforced.
Darien:
Nighttime lane closures on I-95 northbound and southbound, involving
two lanes between Exits 10 to 13,
begin on or about Monday, April 12th and continue through the construction season.
Work involves drainage and paving, weather permitting. Lane closures, Monday
through Thursday, as follows:
- Northbound - first lane closure from 8:00pm to 6:00am; second
adjacent lane closure from 11:00pm to 6:00am (on Thursday, second lane closure
begins at 12:00am).
- Southbound - first lane closure from 7:00pm to 6:00am; second
adjacent lane closure from 10:00pm to 5:00am (on Thursday, second lane closure
begins at 11:00pm).
Watertown:
Route 8 northbound, between Exit 37 off-ramp and on-ramp, is restricted
to one lane for bridge rehabilitation. Work will take place, weather permitting,
and is expected to be completed September 2004. Special note:
oversize and overweight vehicles will be required to detour off Rt. 8 NB at
Exit 37, Rt. 262. Follow Frost Bridge Rd. to access Rt. 8 NB entrance ramp.
New
Milford: portion of Route 7, between Dodd Rd. and Picket
District Rd., will be temporarily realigned. Traffic is being laterally shifted
to the west, which will allow permanent northbound Route 7 reconstruction. Two
11 ft. lanes and all residential/commercial driveways will be maintained during
construction.
Norwalk:
I-95 SB, Exits 15 to 14, lane shifts. Traffic traveling in left lane
shifted to left; traffic in center and right lanes shifted to right. Also, the
on-ramp from West Ave. to I-95 SB is closed for bridge reconstruction of the
southbound deck until further notice.
Greenwich:
Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) NB and SB, ongoing work including possible
lane closures and delays through August 2004. Please check daily lane closings,
described above for day and/or night, for specific details when work is scheduled
to take place.
Stamford:
The existing Stamford Transportation Center Parking Garage
reopened on March 1st. Parking spaces are available. For information about obtaining

Greenwich:
Greenwich Railroad Station -
Track 3: construction through August 2004. Access to trains
via eight bridge plates located on the west end of the platform footbridge.
The stairs coming up from Steamboat Rd. are closed until further notice.
Track 4: construction through July 2004. The platform is closed
from the Pedestrian Bridge Overpass eastward. A temporary platform is open.
