The
Hudson River Valley Greenway (HRVG), under a grant from the Federal
Highway Administration, is exploring the potential for a system
of scenic byways in the Hudson River Valley.
A Steering
Committee, with support from the HRVG, representing citizens, local
organizations and municipalities is working to identify byways for
that system through:
- Public
workshops that will educate citizens about byways while obtaining
their suggestions
-
An inventory of roads to be considered for designation and an
assessment of their features.
The
results of this project will include:
- Recommended
criteria to evaluate and rank proposed byways.
- Guidelines
for localities seeking Greenway model byways grants.
-
A list of potential byways and byway groups.
