PROJECTS & SITUATIONAL NOTES
- CONNECTICUT -
Bridgeport:
RESCHEDULED DUE TO SNOWSTORM -
I-95 NB, traffic switch onto the newly
constructed roadway between Exits 25 to
26 rescheduled for Monday and Tuesday nights,
December 8th and 9th. Also rescheduled, the following
ramp closures on
I-95 NB, 10:00pm to 5:00am, each night:
- December 8th: Exit
25
on-ramp & Exit 26 off-ramp
- December 9th:
Exit 24 on-ramp & Exit 25 off-ramp
All work will take place, weather permitting. Variable message
signs will be utilized and traffic personnel will be available
to assist motorists.
Bridgeport: Local road closures, in association with
I-95 Bridgeport Corridor reconstruction project,
December 8th through 12th:
- Water St., closed at Main St., 7:00am to 3:30pm.
- Broad St., closed between North and South Frontage Rds., 8:30am
to 3:30pm.
Darien:
I-95 NB and SB, Exits
10 to 13, median area reconstruction to last through spring 2004.
Three 11 ft. lanes of traffic will be maintained, limited shoulders
on right side of highway. Lane restrictions generally limited
to nighttime hours.
Norwalk:
I-95 SB, Exits 15 to 14, lane
shifts.
Traffic traveling in left lane shifted to left; traffic in center
and right lanes shifted to right. Also, the on-ramp
from West Ave. to I-95 SB is closed for bridge reconstruction of
the southbound deck until further notice.
East Haven/New Haven: I-95 NB and SB,
lane widening work to last approximately two years. This is part
of the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing Corridor Improvement Program.
Branford:
I-95 NB from Lake Saltonstall Bridge to Exit 54 (Cedar
St.); additional travel lane now open. This marks the first of a
series of highway improvements which are part of the I-95 New Haven
Harbor Crossing Corridor Improvement Program: www.i95newhaven.com
Greenwich:
Route 15 NB and SB, ongoing work
including possible lane closures and delays through August 2004.
Please check daily lane closings, described above for day and/or
night, for specific details when work is scheduled to take place.
New
Milford: Route 7, between Sunny Valley
(South) to Pickett District Rd., will be temporarily realigned.
The roadway will be reduced back to two lanes and laterally shifted
to the west, to allow for permanent northbound Route 7 reconstruction.
Section of road between Old State Rd. #1 and Sunny Valley Rd. (South)
is now full width, four lanes.
Stamford:
Stamford Train Station Stairwell
closures - on or about Monday, December 1st through
December 29th, two stairwells will be closed for necessary repairs:
- the North Stairwell, leading from the concourse level to South
State St. (Track #5) and to the tunnel level
- the South Stairwell, leading from the concourse level to Station
Place and Track #4
Elevators and escalators are available for use.
Stamford:
Stamford Train Station Parking Garage - now through
the end of the year, the existing garage and pedestrian bridge access
to the station is closed for construction. The new parking garage
and new pedestrian bridge access to the station is opened. For all
parking patrons, access to the garage is from Atlantic Street via
the new entrance drive.
Greenwich:
Greenwich Railroad Station
Track 3: construction through August 2004. Access to trains
via eight bridge plates located on the west end of the platform
footbridge. The stairs coming up from Steamboat Rd. are closed until
further notice.
Track 4: construction through July 2004. The platform is
closed from the Pedestrian Bridge Overpass eastward. A temporary
platform is open.
