Diversion Scheduled For I-84 Eastbound

CT— Connecticut Department of Transportation officials have
announced that traffic is scheduled to be diverted from the I-84
Eastbound Exit 14 On-Ramp on Sunday night, July 13, 2003 beginning
at Midnight. The ramp is scheduled to be reopened by 5:00 AM Monday
morning, July 14. The work will be conducted, weather permitting.
This closure is necessary to allow for milling and paving the approaches
to the I-84 Eastbound bridge over Rte. 172.
During
the diversion, traffic will be detoured via the following alternate
route:
On-Ramp: Traffic will be detoured North on Rte. 172 to East on Main
St. to South on Rte. 67 where traffic can enter I-84 Eastbound at
the Exit 15 On-Ramp.
The
$22 million project is expected to be completed in November 2003,
and calls for bridge deck patching, pavement milling, paving and
other safety improvements along I-84. Motorists are urged to use
caution when traveling through construction zones and allow for
extra travel time.
