Bridgeport, Connecticut - Connecticut Department of Transportation
officials have announced that motorists should anticipate a traffic
switch to a new alignment along I-95 northbound between Exits 24
& 25, tonight, Wednesday night, June 25, 2003. The Exit 24 on-ramp
and Exit 25 off-ramp will be closed from 11 PM to 5:00 AM in order
to accommodate this work, as progress continues on the I-95 Bridgeport
Reconstruction Program.
Construction
signs, variable message signs and trafficmen will be in place to
assist motorists during nighttime hours. Motorists are urged to
proceed with caution and obey the posted speed limits when traveling
through this and all other construction zones.
Last
Tuesday, June 17, southbound traffic on I-95 was moved onto newly
constructed pavement between Exits 25 and 24. On Wednesday, June
25, northbound traffic in the same area will be shifted onto the
old southbound travel lanes.
These
traffic shifts signal the completion of the reconstruction of the
southbound outside portion of the I-95 reconstruction between Exits
25 and 24, and are necessary so that work may begin on the outside
portion of the northbound travel lanes in this same area.
