Darien/Norwalk, CT— The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that reconstruction of the median area on I-95 northbound and southbound between Exits 10 and 13, will begin on or about Monday, September 22, 2003 and will continue through the spring of 2004. Traffic will be shifted away from the median during this time. Three 11-foot lanes of traffic will be maintained both northbound and southbound between these exits, with minimum shoulders available on the right side of the highway. Lane restrictions associated with the project will generally be limited to nighttime hours and will be conducted, weather permitting.

This project, scheduled to be completed in April 2005 calls for bridge deck reconstruction, the reconstruction of the median areas, improved drainage systems, new concrete barriers, as well as the milling and resurfacing of I-95, both northbound and southbound, from Exits 10 through 16. Paving work between Exits 13 to 15 should be completed in the next few weeks, weather permitting.

Motorists are urged to proceed with caution and obey the posted speed limits when traveling through this and all other construction zones.
