CT— The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced
that the nighttime traffic detour Northbound and Southbound on Route
15, at Exit 48 in Trumbull, will continue from Monday, June 30 through
Wednesday, July 2, 2003. The nighttime work on this project involves
the final phase in the replacement of the existing bridge for the
reconstruction of the Route 15 and Route 111 Interchange at Exit
48. Work will take place, weather permitting.
All traffic traveling
on Route 15 Northbound and Southbound will be directed “Up
and Over” using the Exit 48 ramps at night from 11:00 PM to
5:00 AM every night. In addition, the nighttime single lane closures
will be in place as follows:
Route 15 (Merritt
Parkway) Southbound:
Monday through Wednesday (7:00 PM to 6:00 AM)
Route 15 (Merritt
Parkway) Northbound:
Monday through Wednesday (8:00 PM to 6:00 AM).
Construction
signs, variable message signs and trafficmen will be in place to
assist motorists during the nighttime hours. Motorists are urged
to proceed with caution and obey the posted speed limits when traveling
through this and all other construction zones.
