Southbury,
CT— Connecticut Department of Transportation officials have
announced that traffic is scheduled to be diverted from the I-84
Eastbound Exit 14 on and off-ramps on Wednesday night, July 23,
2003 beginning at Midnight. The ramps are scheduled to be reopened
by 5:00 AM Thursday morning, July 24. The work will be conducted,
weather permitting. These closures are necessary to allow for paving
on I-84 Eastbound.
During
the diversion, traffic will be detoured via the following alternate
routes:
On-ramp: Traffic will be detoured North on Rte. 172 to East on Main
St. South to South on Rte. 67, where traffic can enter I-84 Eastbound
at the Exit 15 on-ramp.
Off-ramp: Signing on I-84 Eastbound will direct traffic to exit
at Exit 13, where detour signing will take traffic East on Main
St. South to Rte. 172.
The
$22 million project is expected to be completed in November 2003,
and calls for bridge deck patching, pavement milling, paving and
other safety improvements along I-84. Motorists are urged to use
caution when traveling through construction zones and allow for
extra travel time.
