Nightly Traffic Detour Scheduled Northbound And Southbound On The Merritt Parkway At Exit 48 To Continue On Monday, December 2, 2002 Through Friday, December 6, 2002.

Trumbull, CT- The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that a nightly traffic detour northbound and southbound on the Merritt Parkway, at Exit 48 in Trumbull, will continue on Monday, December 2, 2002 through Friday, December 6, 2002 as progress continues on the Route 15/111 Interchange Improvement Project.

The work is necessary to allow for the demolition of the existing bridge overpass at Exit 48 on Route 15 in Trumbull.

All traffic traveling on the Merritt Parkway northbound and southbound, will be directed to go “up and over” the Exit 48 ramps Monday through Thursday, from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM. On Friday nights, the detour will be in place from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM northbound and from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM southbound.

In addition, the following lane closures will be in place:
Merritt Parkway ( Route 15) southbound:
Monday through Thursday (7:00 PM to 6:00 AM)
Friday (8:00 PM to 9:00 AM)
Saturdays (7:00PM to 10:00 AM Sunday morning)
Sundays ( 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM Monday morning)

Merritt Parkway (Route 15) northbound
Monday through Thursday (8:00 PM to 6:00 AM)
Friday ( 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM)
Saturdays (7:00 PM to 11:00 AM Sunday morning)
Sundays ( 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM Monday morning)

Construction signs, variable messages signs will be utilized and traffic will also be directed through the construction zone by authorized project personnel for the duration of the aforementioned work schedule.

Motorists are urged to proceed with caution and obey the posted speed limits when traveling through this and all other construction zones.
