MetroPool
Announces Staff Appointment
In its continuing
effort to promote commuter alternatives to driving alone, MetroPool,
has appointed Clifford Cole to the position of communications
manager, announced Marsha Gordon, president.
"Mr. Cole
is an outstanding media professional who has a reporting background
and specific experience in transportation communications," said
Gordon. "His communications skills will help us enhance our delivery
of news and information to the media and to commuters in the region."
Cole will
coordinate the public information programs of Connecticut Department
of Transportation's highway and construction projects, along with
other community relations projects that meet the information needs
of residents and businesses. Among his responsibilities is the
management of the construction area of the MetroPool website,
www.metropool.com, and the toll-free information telephone number
1-800-CT LANES, which provide regional commuters with daily updates
of lane closures and other highway construction information.
Cole has held
positions in news and traffic reporting for VIP Broadcasting,
Mount Kisco, NY and Metro Networks, White Plains, NY. He has also
directed media relations for the American Diabetes Association
and Marymount College, both in Tarrytown, NY, and has served on
the board of the American Cancer Society, White Plains. He graduated
from Pace University, where he earned a BS degree with a concentration
in journalism, and resides in Orangeburg, NY.
